Cold Drawn Seamless Mechanical Tube (CDS) is a cold drawn 1020 steel tube. Produced from piercing hot rolled bar stock, the cold drawing process increases the tube's physical properties reducing the cost of machine time. Cold drawn seamless tubing provides a better uniformed OD and ID, enhanced machinability, increased strength, and tighter tolerances compared to hot finish seamless products.

1. Suitable to Hone Mechanical Tube is produced from either Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) Tubing or Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) Tubing. Suitable to Hone Tubing is intentionally produced with an oversized wall thickness, which is intended to be honed to a smooth finish ID for cylinder applications. By utilizing suitable to hone tubing, machine time is reduced and waste is minimized.
2. Honed Tube: Deshun's hydraulic cylinder tube is produced using our "Suitable To Hone" Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS). The honing process involves using abrasive polishing stones and abrasive paper to remove small amounts of material, to produce extremely precise ID dimensions and improved finishes. Honed tube is ready to use for hydraulic cylinder applications without further ID processing.
3. Inch Honed Tube: Our hydraulic cylinder tubing is produced using our "Suitable To Hone" Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) and Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS). The honing process involves using abrasive polishing stones and abrasive paper to remove small amounts of material, to produce extremely precise ID dimensions and improved finishes. Honed tubing is ready to use for hydraulic cylinder applications without further ID processing.
4. Chrome Plated OD Tube: Deshun's Chrome Plated OD tubes are produced from Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) tubing in grades 1020 and ST52. The outside diameters are centerless ground, polished, and chrome-plated to a thickness of .0007" - .002" per side. Chrome OD tubes are also offered with a honed inside diameter for Telescoping Hydraulic Cylinder applications.
5. Chrome Plated ID Tube is produced from Drawn Over Mandrell (DOM) or Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) in 1020/1045 or ST52 grades. The inside diameters are polished and chrome-plated to a thickness of .0007" - .002". Custom diameters and chrome plating can be made to your specifications.
6. Bore Tube also called SRB finished are used at telescopic hydraulic cylinders. The chrome surface is giving good wear and corrosion resistance. The boring process is a complex process that is increasing the roughness qualities of the surface. The skiving knives pass first scraping the inside layer of metal. Burnishing rollers are passing afterward cold working the tube and creating an internal mirror surface finish.
